IncLearn is an inclusive learning management system (LMS) tailored for Indian audience.

Our History¶

IncLearn was born out of a deeper understanding for agency in education.

We believe literacy is one of the most empowering things essential for liberation of humanity.

However, our personal experiences and work with people with disabilities proved a point: We need something that's built by us, for us to ensure the systems are fair and treats inclusion as architectural default.

This set us to leverage our pain to solve the need for an inclusive educational platform, especially for India.

Our Manifesto¶

Accessibility is the default¶

IncLearn aims to be an inclusive platform for users of all abilities. Thus, accessibility is a non-negotiable requirement. This is due to reliance on accessibility ourselves, over fear of non-compliance.

Accessibility is not charity and definitely not an add-on.

Empathize before you build¶

Empathize. Validate. Build.

We solicit feedback from real users who are historically excluded from educational systems due to lack of accessibility accommodations and professionals working in the educational sector.

This approach allows us to understand actual pain points and systemic concerns regarding accessibility, that guides our decisions to build a system that caters to others, rather than building on our own assumptions.

After all, disability is a vast spectrum.

Be accountable¶

We take ownership and accountability for the solution we have built, be it accessibility, engineering, or product decisions.

We also realize this is more effective if the people involved in these processes are actually impacted by exclusion.

Most products are tested with people with disabilities. We have several people with disabilities to inform every decision of the product life cycle, build with us, test outcomes and provide feedback. This approach allows us to catch issues early on, than have someone struggle due to poor user experience.
